We carry out training activities which run from 20 to 100 hours each in local communities, both rural and peri-urban..
While every training activity is accompanied by a book in the language of the training, we do not assume that everyone in our trainings will be literate.
We deliberately strive to bring together a mix of community members — “youth” between 15 to 30 years and adults at 40 to 70, men and women, literate community members and those who do not know how to read and write.
Among the topics of our training programs:
► preparing new literacy teachers for their task
► reinforcing the competence of local organization leaders
► trainings on the role of pastoralism in the Sahel
► the role and impact of decentralization
► management of natural resources
► win-win conflict resolution
