ARED is an international non-profit organization created in 1990 by an American, Sonja Fagerberg-Diallo (Ph. D) and a Senegalese team.
Between 1990 and 2006, we have:
• published more than 150 titles in 6 Senegalese languages,
• translated 15 of these titles into French,
• sold over 800,000 books,
• carried out 450 training workshops,
• trained more than 9000 participants, from literacy teachers to community organizers.
ARED works in partnership with local organizations, NGOs and Projects.
ARED is based in Dakar but works throughout Western Africa, especially in the Sahel.
